Marketing the shoulder season

As we approach the shoulder season of January through March North Georgia Film will actively promote Dahlonega-Lumpkin for film and TV pilot work. We hope this increased promotion will lead to further interest in our region. The more chatter about the assets “outside the zone” the better for all of our North Georgia partners. As Dahlonega’s position as a film-friendly community and North Georgia’s hub for the entertainment industry becomes more well known, we will be visited more frequently by location managers and scouts. Any production team interested in Dahlonega will first pitch Dahlonega as a location for consideration to the film or television company, and possibly even network. General inquiries are a standard procedure during pre-production. At this point there has been no formal request to film over winter, but we are working toward it!

I had such a great experience filming in Dahlonega. The city and county representatives are extremely helpful and eager to support film productions in any way possible. It’s pretty remarkable to come to a small, quaint mountain town like this to find such a professional, production ready atmosphere. Not only are you dealing with great people, but you’re also in one of the prettiest areas in Georgia!  I hope to be back soon!

Downtown Dahlonega is a sparkling example of how careful planning, small business support and historic preservation can combine to create a thriving downtown. Its downtown district, art galleries, restored theater and courthouse stand out in North Georgia, making Dahlonega a viable place to do business.
